Our Organization

PMV is a very unique initiative, which focuses on connecting non-profit organizations and charities with volunteer project management professionals and building project management capability in the non-profit sector. It is run by volunteers.

Opportunity Description

This is an opportunity to develop and practice project-level leadership and management skills, with provided coaching, while supporting non-profit groups. Participation will build strong networking relationships and result in documentable career-enhancing achievements. The Client Relationship Manager is the key client and volunteer PM contact for PMV’s Project Services.

Specific Functions

  • Meets with new and existing non-profit sector clients to assess their specific project management requirements
  • Develops volunteer PM Position Descriptions for projects put forward by non-profit organizations
  • Submits finalized volunteer PM Position Descriptions for posting and comments on the LinkedIn PMV group page
  • Assists clients as required during the recruitment process
  • Proactively manages PMV’s relationships with both the volunteer PMs and the client representatives during the projects
  • Follows up and resolves any issues or challenges that might arise
  • Facilitates Lessons Learned sessions at the end of all assignments and documents outcomes
  • Provides stories and pictures about successful projects for the website

Responsibilities

  • Act as the face of the PMV brand for both clients and volunteer PMs and be a self-starter who initiates action
  • Actively seek out and develop project management volunteer opportunities with NFP organizations
  • Set aside 1 – 2 hours per month to maintain relationships with PMV team members
  • Participate in periodic meetings and/or teleconferences
  • Facilitate communication through excellent verbal and written channels
  • Learn using the tools used by PMV for the contacts database, projects tracking, documents storage
  • Keep project files up-to-date, and log hours monthly

Requirement

  • Solid knowledge and practical experience in project management
  • Motivated by the opportunity to help non-profit organizations become more effective
  • Willing to invest around 5-10 hours per month
