Organization Mission

The Friends of the Learned Shark (Les Amis du Requin Savant) is a non-profit organization aimed at setting up a scholarship program in order to ensure that all committed children have a chance to attend the afterschool activities (French classes and general knowledge classes in French) offered by the Learned Shark.

Project Summary

In order to fulfill its mission, the “Friends of the Learned Shark” has an urgent need to raise funds in order to set up the necessary infrastructures for its activities and scholarships. One of the avenues to do so is to set up crowdfunding campaigns. The aim is to create two campaigns, one in French and one in English.

Project Objectives

  • Identifying the best crowdfunding platforms
  • Create campaigns to raise the necessary funds to set up the necessary infrastructures for scholarships
  • Required Qualifications
  • Project Management experience in marketing & public relations
  • Experience with crowdfunding campaigns
  • Fluency in French.

Estimated Time Commitment

15 hours per month

Start Date: December 1st, 2019                                                       End Date: March 1st, 2020

Scope of Work

Working with the Executive Director, the PM volunteer will identify the best crowdfunding platforms in French and in English for the Learned Shark’s Scholarship project. This will also require writing and editing presentation texts in both French and English, and potentially preparing a short video about the project.

Deliverables

  1. Marketing tools for a crowdfunding campaign (texts, video etc.)
  2. Crowdfunding campaign set up and running

Accountability

The PM volunteer will have end-end accountability on project deliverables, reporting to Clara Whyte.

Benefits

Clara Whyte the Executive Director will provide a letter of recommendation to the PM volunteer at the successful conclusion of the project, and serve as a reference if appropriate.
