ABOUT PMV 

PM-Volunteers is a grassroots organization that supports NPOs (non-profit & charitable organizations) through professional project management.  We are expanding project management awareness and skills in the non-profit sector so they can be more successful and creating opportunities for project managers wanting to give back. We started operations in 2010 with one project and one project manager, and today we have approximately 200 projects completed or underway. We also hold workshops introducing project management to nonprofits. The senior leadership team is composed of professionals from different fields, some retired or semi-retired and some still active in their career pursuits. 

OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION 

We currently have two divisions, approximately 25 internal volunteer staff, and 30 volunteer project managers engaged.  With continuous growth our team needs increased capacity and stronger succession planning, some “wise owls” to join our team.   This is an opportunity to practice knowledge philanthropy, apply your experience and expertise, and your program level management and organizational skills. The position is open to candidates willing to invest 20-30 hours per month, with flexibility for travel periods, and with a minimum commitment level of one year.  

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Based on your background and interests, successful candidates will be matched with positions in our growing organization.  Ideally you will team with a current senior manager as part of your familiarization and then be able to step into a management-level position.   

QUALIFICATIONS 

An effective people manager familiar with project management and the non-profit sector.  A communicator with demonstrated experience working with teams. Experience using web-based document management applications (such as Office 365) and communication platforms (such as Skype for Business).  Able to contribute ideas, lead and initiate actions.

TIME COMMITMENT
