Organization Mission We believe there is a need to restore the traditional Aboriginal values of honour, respect and equality. The Circle of Life includes elders, lifegivers, men, and youth. All have a right to live in non-violent families and communities.
Project Summary
A project manager is required to oversee the establishment of a succession plan for the executive director of Warriors Against Violence Society. The project manager will work with the current executive director, staff and board to define the competencies required for this role, the educational requirements and transition strategy.
Project Objectives
- To provide continuity for the organization
- To engage and reassure the board
- Give confidence to funders
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational and facilitation skills
- Experience with succession planning
- Excellent communications, writing and verbal skills
- Understanding of the nonprofit sector
Estimated Time Commitment
4 – 5 hrs./week
Start Date: ASAP End Date: Mar 2020
Scope of Work To establish a clear strategy and executable plan to evaluate and hire the Society’s next executive director

- Successor identification
- Recruiting strategies
- Leadership development strategy
- Interim succession plan
- Transition Plan
Accountability
The PM volunteer will have end-end accountability on project deliverables, reporting to Joyce Fossella, Executive Director.
Benefits
Warriors Against Violence Society will provide a letter of recommendation to the PM volunteer at the successful conclusion of the project and serve as a reference if appropriate.
