Organization Mission

To preserve the unique character of Vancouver’s Eastside, and to retain, promote and develop artists and cultural production, the Eastside Arts Society is proposing an Eastside Arts District (EAD), which will include the geographic area where many artists currently live or work, and would, through legislative, economic and cultural measures, prioritize the creation, support, retention and celebration of arts in Vancouver. The EAD will transform the arts and cultural assets in the Eastside from an informal and grassroots network of stakeholders, into a formalized organization with stable funding and secure long-term facilities for artists and cultural venue.

Project Summary

The Eastside Arts District is a brand-new organization and will require significant dependence upon appropriate software applications that will address current and future requirements. A volunteer project manager is required to assist the management team to determine requirements and recommend appropriate software products.

Project Objectives

To recommend software products that meet the needs of the new Eastside Arts District organization.


5 years of general information technology experience
3 years’ experience in project management
3 years’ experience in database management
3 years business analysis experience providing reports for management decision making
Experience with not-for-profit sector is desirable

Estimated Time Commitment

4 hours/week

 Start Date:    June 28 2021

 End Date:      August 31 2021

 Scope of Work

 The volunteer project manager will be responsible for:

At minimum, determine software requirements in areas of;
o Project Management
o Database Management
o Document Sharing and Storage


Software Products Recommendation Report


The PM volunteer will have end-end accountability on project deliverables, reporting to Esther Esther Rauschenberg,


The Artistic & Executive Director will provide a letter of recommendation to the PM volunteer at the successful conclusion of the project and serve as a reference if appropriate

Additional Information

  • We may proceed with interviewing and engaging applicants before the application deadline.  
  • We may consider a team approach of a senior/junior project manager. We encourage junior project managers who are interested in acquiring experience to apply. Any such arrangement will be contingent on agreement by the client and the applicants.
