Organization Mission  

To provide women with a safe, healthy and caring environment in which to experience recovery from drug and /or alcohol addiction. Charlford House has saved and transformed thousands of women’s lives in the past 49 years in our current rented location. For our 50th Anniversary, we intend to purchase a Forever Home so we can continue this important work for generations to come. In order to accomplish this, we need your help!

We are a small but mighty not-for-profit charitable society and are licensed by the Fraser Health Authority.

Project Summary

Develop a work /business plan to support relocation and building of capacity from 15 to a 24-bed women’s rehab facility in North Burnaby; secure bridge funding, capital funding and capacity building funding for project.

  • Create project budget
  • Secure funding

Required Qualifications

  • Project Management experience in business proposals
  • Project Management experience in construction /renovation projects
  • Knowledge of zoning and bylaws

Estimated Time Commitment

15 – 20 hrs. per month

Start Date: Feb 3rd 2020                                                              End Date: May 30th 2020

Scope of Work 

Working with the Volunteer Project Director and the Executive Director the Assistant Volunteer Project Manager will help on the relocation plan to a new location.  This will include the following:

  • Continue with the workplan for relocation to either existing property or proposed new build site
  • Help create a business plan including proposed budget and fund development for relocation
  • Mentor the Executive Director in project management practices for her part of the project
  • Continue as Volunteer Project Manager after the completion of the initial phase at the end of March 2020

The Assistant PM Volunteer will have end-end accountability on project deliverables, reporting to Miranda Vecchio, Executive Director..


Miranda Vecchio, Executive Director will provide a letter of recommendation to the PM volunteer at the successful conclusion of the project, and serve as a reference if appropriate.
