Organization Mission

PMV (Project Management Volunteers) is a very unique initiative, which focuses on connecting non-profit organizations with volunteer project management professionals.

Project Summary

This is an opportunity to support the online delivery of our Project Management Workshops
for Non-Profits, Social-Profits and Charities. The Workshop Producer is the key contact
between the Facilitators and participants, is mostly not on-air, and coordinates with the
Coordinator who provides administrative and content support. Participation will build
strong networking relationships and result in documentable career-enhancing

Project Objectives

Support the delivery of online workshops (series of four 90-minute sessions presented over a 2–week or 4–week period) involving pre-series production, workshop delivery
and post-workshop follow up and reporting, including:
• Eventbrite – reviews final registration list and prepares tentative group lists for Zoom breakout sessions plus Facilitator review;
• Slack – verifies all registrant names appear in the private Slack channel created by the Coordinator, coordinates with the Facilitator to post welcome message plus group introductions, loads relevant workshop materials and posts private Zoom link
before each session;
• Zoom, Chat and PMV e-mail:
– opens meeting room, helps Facilitator prepare for the session and supports participants needing extra help with audio, video and technical issues before/during each session;
– sets up and monitors breakout rooms, captures and saves images of POLL results,
– monitors Zoom and Slack chat plus PMV e-mail for any issues with Zoom or workshop material;
• Post Session– monitors Slack channel and responds to basic workshop questions plus coordinates follow-up responses with the Facilitator (exercises, volunteer or projectrelated
• Lessons Learned – loads workshop poll in final Zoom session chat and monitors responses, summarize and document outcomes with final report to Facilitator and Coordinator;
• Follows up and resolves any issues or challenges that might arise before or during workshop delivery;


• Experience with virtual video and audio conferencing, webinars and/or professional
live chats;
• Experience with online tools such as Zoom, Slack, MS Teams, SharePoint and/or
• Able to facilitate communication through excellent verbal and written channels;
• Demonstrated experience in working with teams and creative problem solving;
• Willing to contribute ideas and initiate actions;

 Scope of Work

 The volunteer project manager will be responsible for:

• Act as the face of the PMV brand for workshop registrants and participants and be a self-starter who initiates action;
• Ability to work on camera while maintaining a professional demeanour during highpressure situations when handling multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Prioritize tasks and carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision;
• Access to basic streaming equipment for Zoom presentations such as dependable, high-speed Internet connection, computer, video source (webcam) and microphone (headset/built in) plus sufficient lighting;
• Comfortable on camera and with a presentable home office that won’t distract participants from the workshop experience;
• Ability to help diagnose issues with connecting speakers, webcams, and
• Each workshop series consisting of four sessions requires a time commitment of 10 hours; frequency of workshops varies annually.



The PM volunteer will have end-end accountability on project deliverables, reporting to Peter Mulholland,


• Help staff and volunteers from non-profit organizations become more effective and achieve more;
• Be part of a great team;
• All privileges and benefits applicable to PMV’s Volunteers;
• For volunteers with professional certifications, a certain amount of volunteering hours may be applicable for professional development points.

Additional Information

  • We may proceed with interviewing and engaging applicants before the application deadline.  
  • We may consider a team approach of a senior/junior project manager. We encourage junior project managers who are interested in acquiring experience to apply. Any such arrangement will be contingent on agreement by the client and the applicants.
